“You’re watching me make this up” – I can say this to a stranger now because there is nothing fake about me.
It’s been liberating.
I’m not faking till I make it. Not anymore. That was a strategy I used effectively for years but not now. I’m showing up as the whole Chris. That is who they are there for. There is no faking that. They’re either going to want more of that, or not want it, and if they don’t want it that is totally ok and doesn’t make me feel any less. As they say, the world would be an extremely boring place if we all wanted the same things.
I’m excited to work with those that want to work with me. That’s where the magic will happen.
I want to work with people and missions that excite me. Otherwise, why bother?
For years I would work in solitude, until I had the “gold master” of my project. I would only share it with the world when it was beyond criticism and could not be changed.
That worked well. I had a lot of success with that method. My intuition could be trusted. An artist will work on their piece of art till they are done and then display it at a gallery. They don’t come back to work on it there. That is how much art is created. That was how I worked.
But I’m ready for a new challenge and have been preparing for it.
I’m looking for “What’s Next” and when that is unknown to you you must charge fearlessly into the unknown. This time I’m totally disclosing what I’m doing instead of hiding it.
Someone once said, “What got you here will not get you there”. I’ve flipped the script.
I also think about how I wrote “Don’t hold back” twice in my notes a month ago. That I wrote it twice made me take notice. I accepted the challenge.
I’ve done great things, and I’ve had great failures. I enjoy leaning into that narrative more and more because I know it’s not one that is told regularly.
I’m not an entrepreneur. I’m not a DJ. I’m not a coach. I’m not an author. I’m not a label.
I cannot be labeled. I refuse to be labeled.
I’m Chris Frolic.
It’s good to meet you.
How are you showing up for the world?
You are Chris Frolic! the one and only. Just be yourself because everyone else is taken said, Oscar Wilde.
Thanks, Corrine. Welcome to the blog 🙂
It’s like when you were DJ’ing, never planning a set!
The interesting thing was I didn’t realize what I was doing at the time. It was just instinctive. It was only with reflection later that I understood that idea of “creating something new” and taking a risk doing it.
