Quiet time

Q

A good hour of any work day of mine is spent quiet, away from everything.

Usually this is a walk. I do not take my phone.

This time away is super productive to me. That’s why I include it as part of my “work” day.

I usually don’t go out with any sort of agenda. It’s just time for myself. But inevitably as I walk and enjoy being outside, the sky, the trees, the neighborhood, thoughts will come to me.

I can remember key issues I was facing being solved from within me during this time. Key moments that literally transformed my businesses.

I feel sorry for people that I pass walking with their heads down looking at their phones. They literally cannot take a moment. They must occupy their mind with whatever. They don’t know how to have a quiet moment.

They will never know what its like to have that “Eureka!” moment, because they are distracting themselves.

Sometimes I will be facing a critical problem, that I will bring to my walks. I find if I frame the problem as a question, and ask myself that, and then be patient, my mind will start to work on it.

How might you be served with more quiet time in your daily routine?
